New Year

We spent New Year's Eve at The Mannings.  Steph had made cauldrons full of chilli, with ALL the trimmings which I love and invited 5 families.  It wasn't a party, it was a gathering and it was very chilled and relaxed.  A perfect occasion for New Years.  Time went quickly as the kids played together very nicely, meaning we got to do adults chat for the night.  We all got together for midnight after which Tom suddenly came all over tired, so we called it a day and came home.  Was a lovely evening and we didn't over eat or over drink which was good.

New Year's Day was a lovely bright day.  We had a very lazy day.  We needed one!  We lazed about, ate left over food for lunch, started on the mammoth lego, watched a film and did a quick circuit of Ribblehead in the afternoon as the sun was setting.  A very lovely, very quiet day.

Being silly on the big stone
Today Tom and I did the waterfalls walk with the Holmans (Liz, Annabel and Owen).  Annabel wasn't really up for it and whinged most of the way round.  Tom hooked up with Own and became his shadow for the day.

This meant he suddenly became very brave, doing loads of stuff that he wouldn't normally do which was great.

This included climbing behind the waterfall - which was a little worrying as it was so slippy today.

Anyway it was a good day, we all made it round and Liz and I caught up.
