Rain and Trains

Tom sorting the post...
Saturday - we had the Scout's jumble sale.  We made sure that we were seen to be at the jumble in the morning helping out.  Tom did some baking too. The afternoon was supposed to be cricket - but it got rained off.  In the meantime Lynne got in touch to see if Tom wanted to spend the afternoon with Matt.  He jumped at the chance, so he headed off and I finished off a cake and then did some housework - getting the ground floor into some sort of order.  Matt then arrived having spent the afternoon in the pub as his cricket match was cancelled.

We then had tea out at the tapas before heading to Lynne's to pick up Tom.  Think we were only there 1.5 hours which was pretty good going (always made to stay and drink when you go round Lynne's!)

Small engine
Sunday we once again didn't really know what to do with ourselves.  It was another grey and miserable day.  We ended up going to Preston - had lunch in the nice cafe I found when we dropped Anita off and then headed to the Ribble Steam Railway for a couple of jerky trips up and down a 3 mile bit of line around the docks of Preston (docks - who knew there were docks in Preston - I didn't!)

And that was the end of a very quiet half term!
