So on the 1st April right at the start of the Easter holidays Matt had 3 pals from University come to visit him. Tom and I decided we were surplus to requirements and went camping. We booked ourselves into Archers just north of Morecambe.
We packed up the van and headed over on Friday night after school. We spent the weekend beforehand reminding ourselves how to set everything up - just as well as we had forgotten loads of stuff and it would have been a task and a half if we had tried without a practise that Friday night.
We had a great pitch overlooking the bay on one side and the train tracks on the other side. Tom unfortunately had a bit of a cold so wasn't at his best, but he was excited to be camping. We had a big tea of creamy chicken pasta and were relatively early to bed. I was in the pop top as he was feeling bad. It was freezing but with our extra thick duvet and weighted blanket I was able to cocoon myself up and make a nice warm den for myself. On the Saturday we had a lazy breakfast of bacon sarnies and then walked along the bay to Archers and then on to Happy Mount Park in Morecambe for a game of crazy golf and lunch.
The plan was to head into Morecambe and go to the amusements etc and get the bus back, but Tom asked to head back to the campsite to chill so we did that instead - he had a very pleasant afternoon tracking trains. We tried playing Wingspan in the van, but it was very hard work - just not enough room in the van even with just the two of us. We had another big tea of sausage and mash, were treated to a lovely sunset and were in bed early. No bother to me, I always like to go to bed early.
Sunday we woke up late. We decided to head to Archer's Cafe for breakfast. We got a message from Matt saying that all his pals had left, so he came down on his motorbike and we ate breakfast together. I was very proud of myself having managed to set up the van and do all the camping without incident
