Easter Holidays - Liverpool and a Beluga

After a fun Sheafstock, we all had a mini break.  We took Tom to Liverpool to meet up with Jude and Craig.  They then took him home whilst we stayed in the city for two nights. We don't need our arms twisting to go to Liverpool - always like walking around the city.  We stayed at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool which is next door to the huge Stanley Dock with the biggest brick building in the world which is slowly being gentrified into residential and commercial accommodation.  It is a little way out of town and doesn't have any public transport links so we had tired feet both nights when we went to bed.  Our room was amazing though - huge huge room overlooking Stanley Dock.  We didn't do anything specific in Liverpool - we just enjoyed being in a city and we did quite a bit of shopping - we had a list of things we needed.  We also ate very well: including a visit to Bundobust, an ethnic food court (think we both had Korean) and a nice Italian.  We certainly deserved our food - we walked for miles.

We met up with Jude and Tom at the Chocks Away cafe at Hawarden Airport.  The main reason for that was to see the Belgua arrive as the cafe is at one end of the runway.  It was a horrible wet and windy day and yes we stood in the rain and wind for a good 15 mins waiting for it to arrive, but when it did, it was worth it. Tom was made up...and soaked through.
