Tom was up at 6am - I brought him into bed with me until 7 (Matt's in London, so I was happy to have a bed mate in the morning) He fed once last night (at 1am) but the bugger also got me up at 3am - he was crying, so I got up. In the time it took me to get to his room (about 30 seconds) he fell asleep - the little bugger!!!!
As mum and dad are up, we thought it would be nice to introduce Tom to Great Great Aunty Shelm and Great Great Uncle Bob, and yes the two greats are very necessary when you are mum and have been teased by Bob for many years!
As Tom was up early, he fell asleep early and was back in bed around 8am. We took the opportunity to have breakfast. By the time he woke up we were ready to head to Southport. OK journey - too many trucks and dawdlers - but that's always the case. Shelm was overjoyed to see Tom, was very gooey - couldn't keep her eyes off him. Bob was charmed as well. Tom behaved himself very well, adding to his spell over them.
They took us to a carvery for lunch, during which Tom slept in his pram - what an angel, only waking for dessert (hummm - I wonder if he has a sweet tooth?). To ensure his daily burst of fresh air we took him for a walk around a pond and then for a blow along the beach - his first sandy beach. We returned to Shelm and Bob's for tea and a bun, before heading back to Telford. Tom got a little upset on our return, but thinking about it - this was his longest day in the car - 4 hours, so can't really complain. He was in the bath immediately on his return, then Granma fed him and read him his story before he zonked out!
