We all had a good sleep last night. Tom didn't demand feeding until 4am and then stayed asleep until 7am. Got him up, gave him a leisurely breakfast on the bed, before taking him down to play with Granma and Pop Pop.
We decided over breakfast to go to the Trentham Estate to wander round the Italian Gardens, or if it decided to rain, amble through the garden centre and retail village. Guess what - it rained!!!! In fact it rained so hard that we were prisonners in the car for a good 10 minutes on arrival. First stop was the coffee shop so we could all have a drink. We then looked around the shop - I fell in love with a fantastic froggie machintosh for Tom, but as it was age 3, I left it behind (but I have made note in my memory!)
The weather cheered up so we had a walk around the outside plant section. We then had a look in the shops - I got some rum flavoured cider for Matt to sample from the foodie shop. We then had lunch whilst looking at the weather to decide whether to go into the gardens or not. We decided not - the clouds were grey and threatening. Instead, there was a free craft show so we wandered around that. Dad even met some ex clients of his there.
As we returned to the car, the heavens opened, so we had made the right decision. Returned home, Mum and Dad spent most of the afternoon playing with Tom, which he really enjoyed. It's great for him having other people to play and interact with - he was all smiles all day.
