I like sand pits

Today dawned beautiful again. I took advantage of the Crapstone baby sitting service and went off to Tavistock on my own (feels very strange - kept looking behind me to find an empty car seat). The main purpose of the trip was to go to the cake shop there to be inspired. Fat chance! They are selling the business and all I got was a sob story about inefficient suppliers. They only had Christmas stuff in stock so I left empty handed.

Came home to an empty house - Tom had been taken out by his grandparents so I enjoyed a good half hour on my own reading the paper. Little things have become big pleasures.

Tom came home just in time for lunch and a play. He was in a very good mood. He had a big lunch and then played in the lounge for a good hour before going to bed.

We then had a big lunch (Dad had his Neighbourhood Watch meeting this evening meaning lunch and dinner got reversed) and then set up the garden for the afternoon - the sun was out again and it was warm so we took full advantage.

Mum and Dad have a sand pit - so that came out. Took Tom a little while to notice it when he came out, but he did spend quite a bit of time playing with it. He was standing for quite a while. He had the usual dilemma though - he wanted to move around it, but that meant standing on the grass - I think he ended up with one foot on a blanket and one foot on the grass - funny boy!

Time went quickly and before we knew it, it was 5 o'clock and dinner time. Tom had sausage and mash left over from our lunch (first time for sausages - went down very well). Then a play before bath, bottle and bed. He went to sleep immediately this time (he looked very tired) and stayed asleep during Dad's meeting which was fab. He only woke once - at midnight, just needed settling and that was it.
