Poo, Poo and more Poo

Tom refused to drink his milk last night - he took less than a third of his usual portion, which suggests to me that he was full on food. I think milk is more important than food at the moment, so will reduce his evening meal back to what I was doing before speaking to the Health Visitor to make sure he gets enough.

We had quite a good night though, I had to get up once at 1am to 'plug' him and that was it until 6.45, I got to sleep pretty quickly after that so had a good night as well. This morning I gave him 1/4 weetabix with prunes. As Matt was light on work, we decided to head into Ironbridge to do one of the walks we found last week and then have lunch. We set out with Tom in his Baby Bjourn, all very happy and chatty, but about 10 minutes into the walk the heavens opened, luckily we were under trees when it happened, but it got heavier and heavier so that in the end we had to give up as Tom was getting wet. Ended up running to a fireplace showroom to put Tom down and put him in some dry clothes whilst Matt went to get the car.

By the time Matt had got the car, the sky was blue - not a cloud to be seen, but it was too late, the Baby Bjourn was drenched, there was no way we could take Tom out. What we need is baby waterproofs - never seen them in the shops.

Tom fell asleep in the car so I put him in his cot for his lunchtime nap, when he woke up I went into his room - boy did it smell! He had done a massive pate poo - this was the second of the day - nice and soft and very big. In fact by the end of the day he had done 4 big pate poos, so the prunes and weetabix certainly did their job and we are all relieved.

Gave him his lunch when he woke up - cauliflower and broccoli cheese - he hated it - would not let it near him - this is his first full on refusal of food, so I ended up eating it - yummy and I gave him some mashed avocado - he refused again, so I mashed up some banana into it - then he ate it all - difficult boy!

Tom decided he was going to shout in the afternoon, so I took him to Newport as Matt had had a job come in and was working again. Ambled around the library and Waitrose (managed to not buy anything!) before returning around 3pm. Tom fell asleep in the car again, but only managed 30 mins meaning the afternoon was a little long. Gave him his dinner early - back on smaller portions: butternut squash and peach to follow - all of which went down well.

As everything happened a little early, he had an early bath followed by his last feed and was fast asleep by 6.15.

Next on our list of things to worry about - Tom has a number of red spots on his tum which have suddenly appeared. I'm hoping it might just be a slight allergic reaction to something, they certainly don't seem to be giving him any trouble. We will have a look to see how they look tomorrow...
