Last night we were up three times. 10pm (took an hour to get him back to sleep - coughing kept him awake so had to resort to drugs), 1am (quick resettle worked), 4am (took an hour and drugs to get him back to sleep again). I went to wake him up at 7, as we have gymbabes today which means we need to get his nap times right so he is receptive to the session at 2pm. Breakfast was more of a success than in recent days, he managed the remains of yesterday's breakfast (fruit puree), a fromage frais and about 2 teaspoons of porridge which is way more than he's had recently. I also tried him with some bread - but he rejected that.
Once Tom was awake again we went to Asda to collect salad items for lunch, we then dropped into the cake shop to pick up some bits for class tomorrow and then on to Rachel's for lunch. Tom did really well for lunch - managed a whole portion of savoury food, followed by half a portion of fruit. Was really pleased. He then went for a sleep in Oliver's cot whilst we had our lunch.
Had a really good session at Gymbabes. I was in two minds whether to take him or not as he has been unwell, but I'm glad I did. He did get tired quickly, but he had a really good session on the parallel bars and stood up for quite a while, looked really pleased with himself.
Had a quick drink at Costa and then returned home. Tom is certainly better today, he was in a good mood in the afternoon and managed a decent dinner - a good portion of veggie lasagna (with lumps) and the remainder of pudding from lunch. I was really pleased with him. He then played nicely until bath time at 6pm which was good - he's been really grizzly at this time for the last couple of days.
I had a bath with him (I'm going downhill now, got a cold and a painful ear - I HATE the blocked ear thing that comes with colds, find it very uncomfortable). He had a lovely time and insisted on showing us his new trick - ie standing up. He kept getting hold of the handles and trying to pull himself up. He did it again and again. When I moved him away from the handles, he tried doing the same using the top of the bath. After a good half hour, Matt took him out and dressed him, instead of crying which is what he has done the last couple of times, he gurgled and laughed. All good stuff. He still has a cough and still has phlegm, but he is definitely a happier boy. Let's hope he has a good night's sleep...
