Another good night. Tom called out a couple of times, but each time for only a fleeting moment which was great - meant I didn't get out of bed at all. Tom had his usual play on the bed and then breakfast (wouldn't eat much - mainly due I think to the distraction of people in the house)
Today I had a huge chicken and mountain of vegetables to feed the Smyths for lunch, so it was decided that an appetite needed to be worked up. So after Tom's nap we all headed down to the Town Park. Matt directed everyone to the diggers (he's been itching to play with these since we discovered them - was a bit shy to start with, but after encouragement from us all, he had a long awaited play - and doesn't he look pleased with himself?). Ben immediately took to these and spent a good 30 minutes creating a moat around himself.
I took Tom to the little uns playground where he had a go on the swings, slide, springy thing and see-saw (everything in the park starts with a S). He had a good giggling fit on most of the apparatus and was then content to watch Ben and Mia on the big kids equipment from his rucksack.
Came home to a roasted chicken (Matt worked out how to put the oven on automatic cook today which was fab) 40 minutes later we were sitting down to a huge roast, which everyone enjoyed (I was very proud as last time they stayed with us Mia was full of tears and tantrums for every mealtime). After another Ooglies (they are all addicts) they headed back to Wiltshire and we repaired the damage to the kitchen.
Tom had a lovely afternoon - once again full of giggles and smiles. At one stage he even managed to pull himself to his feet using the puff - another tiny stage of development. He then had a good bath and bed.
