Another freezing night. Tom slept well again though. He woke at 4.45 - he had got tangled up in his sleeping bag. So, an easy fix and that was it until 7am when I went in to get him.
Today Waterbabies started again, so we were on a rigid morning schedule to make sure that he got his nap in time for his 10am lesson. We got it right and he had a lovely lesson. He enjoyed the underwater bits and was chuckling away for most of it. Unfortunately, he saw me leave towards the end of the lesson (I went to get his towel). He howled an howled, so had a bad end. Matt was good though and made him stay for the rest of the lesson even though he was crying.
Had a sit down and drink after swimming with Rose, Martin and Abi. Both babies are on the go now (although Abi is crawling in the classic fashion), which made it interesting. The sofas there are much lower than our sofas and before we knew it Tom was pulling himself up to standing position on them, so he is able to do it - I guess our furniture is too high for him at the moment.
We decided to go to Wellington for lunch - there is a baby friendly pub there, so we all had lunch (Tom hoovered his food down: a huge beef casserole followed by blueberries, peach slices and some fruit puree - he had a bottomless stomach!)
Then to the market for some veg, butchers for some meat and then Dunelm Mill to get some curtains. We have really really noticed the drop in temperature on the bottom floor this week and figured that if we got some thick curtains, they would help keep the drafts out and heat in. Luckily there was a massive sale going on, so we got some very nice curtains at a good price.
When we got home, Tom was exhausted so I put him in his cot, and then we spent the next hour or so putting up the curtains. They completely change the look of the house and have already made a really positive change to the freezing temperature of the bottom floor.
I took Tom down to have a look once he was awake, he definitely noticed something was different. He didn't cry, so I guess he does approve. Tom had another large meal for dinner - homemade cottage pie. Took some dexterity to get it in him, as he was doing his swivel head impression, but we got there in the end. Tom then starred on the webcam to have a conversation with his Grannie and Grandpa London. He was a cheery chappy and gave them a refresher lesson on how to clap, which everyone enjoyed.
