Polar bear

Tom managed another fantastic sleep last night, sleeping right through till morning again. We took advantage for once and slept pretty well ourselves. It was another beautiful winter day today, very cold but bright blue skies, so we decided to get out for some fresh air. There are still large parts of Telford Town Park that we haven't explored, so we put Tom in his rucksack and marched him through the snow and ice for about an hour. You can tell from the lakes and ponds how cold it's been of late: they're all frozen solid (see the photo). We more or less had the place to ourselves as well, which felt strange, but I guess everyone was at the sales: it was certainly pretty busy in the shopping centre. We had lunch in one of the cafes there, and then visited a few shops to pick up some essentials. We managed to bump into Rachel Z (minus Oliver) and a couple that used to be in our dancing class.

Jude came round at about 2.30 and received her usual intense stare from Tom. We still can't figure out why he does this, but he obviously regards her as fascinating. Jude, fortunately, doesn't take offence at this, but must be wondering why she gets singled out for special treatment.

Tom had a bath with his Mum tonight and went to bed a happy boy. We enjoyed a rather nice joint of roast pork, but as I write this, Tom is most definitely not asleep. He's woken up crying a couple of times already tonight, which hasn't happened at this time in the evening for quite a while, so we're a bit concerned that our recent run of good sleeps is coming to an end. We'll see.
